Hello everyone,

My name is Ioannis Panagopoulos, and I am honored to serve as the External Commissioner for the International Student Association UMAMI. Additionally, I have the privilege of being the Chair of the Business and Educational Committee.

I completed my bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Thessaly in Greece, where my passion for food innovation and human health took root. My academic journey brought me to Maastricht University, where I am pursuing my master's in Health Food Innovation Management. What excites me most about this program is the perfect blend of science and business, offering a holistic perspective on creating impactful food solutions.

In my role as External Commissioner, I focus on fostering strong relationships with sponsors and external stakeholders. This involves maintaining active communication, seeking opportunities to strengthen collaborations, and ensuring UMAMI’s presence resonates within the local and academic communities. As Chair of the Business and Educational Committee, I take pride in leading initiatives that enhance our members' academic and professional experiences through workshops, events and industry connections.

Outside of academics and association work, I enjoy exploring new destinations, staying active at the gym, and engaging in meaningful conversations with people from diverse backgrounds.

I look forward to an exciting year ahead, working with our incredible team to create unforgettable experiences for our members while further establishing UMAMI as a platform for growth, learning and connection.
